Fee Structure Fee Structure Carter & Carter usually charges $400 for a one-hour consultation. The consultation fee is due before the consultation begins. The consultation fee must be paid by credit card, cash, a certified check, or money order. $400 is the normal hourly rate for the attorneys at Carter & Carter. Carter & Carter generally sends invoices on the last day of each month. Payment is due upon receipt. When Carter & Carter agrees to represent a client, it generally requires a Trust Account Security Deposit. The amount of the Trust Deposit is generally $5,000 or more. The Trust Deposit is held in Trust for the entire time that Carter & Carter is representing the client; at the end of the representation, the firm will refund the Trust Deposit. The Trust Deposit is not used to pay the monthly invoices; instead, clients pay the monthly invoice each month when it is presented.
